The Best Credit Cards To Use For Amazon Purchases
While any rewards credit card can earn points on Amazon purchases, some are better than others. To maximize your spending, a cash-back credit card can be a beneficial card to have. However, if you’re looking to earn travel rewards, there are some valuable options to consider as well.
At the end of the day, find the card that makes the most sense for you and your spending habits.
Prime Visa
The Prime Visa can be your best option for Amazon rewards. But you must be an Amazon Prime member to qualify for this card. It’s also a metal credit card and doesn’t have an annual fee or foreign transaction fee.
Prime members get 5% back at Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and Chase Travel purchases with an eligible Prime membership. Gas stations, restaurants, and on local transit and commuting (including rideshare) get 2% back. Everything else earns 1% back.
There is also a Prime Card Bonus. Cardholders can earn 10% back or more on a rotating selection of products and categories at Amazon.com.
Get a $100 Amazon Gift Card (or more) instantly upon approval, exclusively for Prime members with their new Prime Visa.
You can redeem your rewards for Amazon purchases.
Canceling your Prime membership downgrades you to the basic card.

The Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card is one of the best cash rewards cards for Amazon purchases. You earn 1.5% back on every purchase, regardless of the merchant. However, earn unlimited 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel. This card doesn’t have an annual fee or a foreign transaction fee.
New Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card cardholders can earn a one-time $200 cash bonus after spending $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

This is one of the best Capital One credit cards.
You can get a complimentary extended warranty on select purchases. Two other online shopping tools Quicksilver offers are Paribus and Wikibuy. Wikibuy scans the purchase price for many online stores, including Amazon, to find the lowest price.
Paribus tracks your Amazon purchases for late deliveries to get a shipping credit. This tool also looks for price drops on your recent purchases. While Amazon doesn’t offer price protection claims, you may get a partial refund for purchases from other retailers like Walmart or Target.
Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card can be one of the best travel credit cards to maximize your Amazon purchases. Most travel credit cards only earn 1 point/mile per $1 spent at Amazon. However, the Venture card earns 2x miles per $1 on every purchase. That means you’ll earn twice the amount of rewards, every time you use your card for purchases. But, you can earn Earn 5x miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel.
Your Venture miles are redeemable for travel statement credits, booking future travel, and mile transfers to select airline and hotel Capital One transfer partners.
You also get a fee credit of up to $100 for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck. These benefits, and no foreign transaction fee, make this one of the best credit cards for international travel. This card also sports the Wikibuy and Paribus online shopping tools we discussed above that can increase your Amazon shopping savings.
The annual fee is $95.
Enjoy a one-time bonus of 75,000 miles once you spend $4,000 on purchases within 3 months from account opening, equal to $750 in travel, with the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card.

Not exactly. No Amazon credit card has an annual fee. However, you must be a Prime member to qualify for the American Express or Chase co-brand credit cards for Prime members to earn 5% back on Amazon and Whole Foods purchases. Not being a Prime member means you only get 3% back on Amazon and Whole Foods purchases.
Amazon Prime membership costs $139 per year (or $14.99 per month), plus taxes.
